Hope Tech began life in the late 1980’s as a subcontract machining business making tools and fixtures for the many local aerospace companies. In 1989 they began making disc brakes for the newly developed mountain bikes. Initially for the personal use of the owners Ian Weatherill and Simon Sharp, but they quickly realised these brakes could be sold as a product in their own right.
Hope now proudly manufactures hubs at their state of the art facility in Barnoldswick, England. They have almost 100 staff operating the factory 24-7, running the 55 CNC machines, anodising the individual components and hand assembling the finished parts. Manufacturing all products on site gives Hope total control of quality.
Hope's reputation continues to grow internationally, achieving global recognition due to the high-quality, reliable, products they offer to the market. This RS4 Rear Road Hub is strong, smooth, and serviceable, coming in at a modestly light 262 grams; the hub shell is made from T-6 aluminium billet, and is paired with stainless steel cartridge bearings for durability and, when the time finally comes, easy servicing.
Featuring 44-point engagement, reduced drag ratchet mechanism, and a two-pawl ratchet, this RS4 Rear Road Hub offers a consistently smooth rolling performance.
Fitted by riders who want to upgrade their bikes to the highest levels, we are pleased to be able to offer the Hope RS4 hub as a quality option to our CBX Honeycomb rims.
